Inked Chucks

Posted by Orangeheat in Art, design, random, shoes

I remember the temptation of drawing on a new pair of Chuck Taylor’s, the white canvas crying out for something more. These pink bad boys from Houston, TX, are pretty sweet! Excellent stuff here. I really like the retraced Star, very nice touch, blending with the existing art, while enhancing simultaneously. The rubber soles perimeter was always a favorite section to draw on, as the ink gets soaked up nicely and welcomely. Doddle your shoes and enjoy. Kids can’t have all the fun; besides, what else are you going to do in that 1930s-era soup queue?

J.J.

Posted by Orangeheat in Art, design

I like to find art hiding in cracks and nooks, like this poster from my lost pet flyers collection. This is the only flyer featuring a drawing of the beloved pet, rather than a photo. The colors and text are quite artful, and J.J looks like a tricky little birdy if there ever was one, with one eye cocked over his shoulder, ready to take fast flight, even with his puny T-Rex wings.

So if you happen to be in the Laurel Canyon area and see a long-tailed green bird speaking some words, please call the number and catch him if you can!
